Chat Republic is the outcome of 18 years of reporting on the intersection of technology and society, and working in the trenches of digital media.

Radio Silence: Borders are peculiar things. Arbitrary, contestable, often inconvenient. A canal here, a fence there, a dried up river bed, barbed wire, a train station. What happens to us when we step across one of these lines?
The book is a memoir, a collection of poems and an essay--that spans three phases of the author’s life in Sri Lanka, England and the USA. The work processes local and global events through the lens of the author as a citizen, immigrant, photographer and writer. A dominant theme is that of border crossings, and experiences that are buried in radio silence.
