MICROPROCESSORS and Web
browsers, camera phones,
social networks, blogs and SMS. These are the
shoelaces and safety-pins that bind us into one big community. There's always an 'opportunity cost' in replacing
real-world experiences with their digital counterparts. This is all
about technology, innovation, and culture. Challenging. Mind-boggling.
Inevitable.
Alongside the wonders of
social media --wikis, blogs, podcasts,
photo-sharing, online video, mobile - and ubiquitous Wi-Fi is the
downside of being connected: identity theft, spyware and trojans. Ordinary people
don't have to put up with this.
I cover
topics not as a technology cheerleader,
but as a realist. The Web has almost become the interface of everyday
life, but we must realize that while some 11.5 billion web pages are
indexed and searchable, some 45 billion pages are not!
All the
articles on this site have been published in business magazines here in
the US, and overseas. For a more updated take on what's changing, what's
impacting marketing, and how it all relates to us, check my Blog, at
Hoi Polloi.
